CRLA/NADE Working Group Report Introduction:
NADE & CRLA Members
The Executive Boards of NADE and CRLA present to our members a report from the CRLA/NADE Working Group. The CRLA/NADE Working Group was formed in the spring of 2007 to investigate possible future directions based on the work of the Blue Ribbon Commission which conducted a strategic review of NADE, CRLA, and other organizations in 2004.
Our dissemination of this report is intended to begin
discussions of future possibilities for our two organizations. We are already engaged in reciprocal agreements through the Council of Learning Assistance and Developmental Education Associations (CLADEA, formerly ACDEA). With the release of this report, however, we hope to “extend conversations to wider circles” (p. 26) to see what, if any, joint ventures the organizations’ members may be interested in pursuing in the future.
In addition to the release of the report and before any action will be taken on its contents, the CRLA and NADE Executive Boards are committed to creating venues to learn about the concepts presented in the report and to engage in conversations about the ideas, as suggested in the report (p.26). To that end, NADE and CRLA plan to hold a session for members to discuss the report at the next annual conference of each organization. For NADE, it will be Friday, February 29, at 12:30 p.m. The next CRLA conference will be held in Cleveland, Ohio, October 22-25.
We invite members to read the Executive Summary and the Report and to attend these sessions at each conference. You can also provide immediate feedback by responding to the web-based feedback form using the link below or at

Thank you. 2007-08 CRLA & NADE BOARD Executive Boards
