Presentation Description:

Participants not familiar with the National Association for Developmental Education (NADE) will engage in conversation with the current NADE President and the co-chair of the NADE Certification Council. Topics will include NADEÕs mission, goals, and reciprocal organizations as well as the NADE Certification process.

 

* Describe NADE: mission, purpose, motto, goals, structure (committees, Special Interest Networks), conference information

* List members of Council of Learning Assistance and Developmental Education Associations  (CLADEA), including NADE and CRLA, and state CLADEAÕs purpose.

* Outline NADE Certification Program.

* Discuss reciprocal organizations.

 

The President of the National Association for Developmental Education (NADE), Rosemary M. Karr, will discuss topics such as its purpose, mission, structure, goals, CLADEA, and reciprocal organizations.  In addition, Dr. Linda Thompson, Co-Chair of NADEÕs Certification Council, will outline NADEÕs program certification process.

 

This session is intended to offer participants a view of the importance of reciprocal organizations and to stimulate their thinking about what professional organizations can do to advance professions and how the participants themselves are the professionals who make these organizations successful for the students each serves.
