The 2018 Conference team has four volunteer positions that needto be filled as soon as possible with enthusiastic, committed, and knowledgeable individuals; one position requires a person(s) familiar with Santa Fe and use of the Rail Runner Express, and another requires specialized knowledge of Albuquerque. If you are interested in any of these positions, please email Shelley DeBlasis, 2018 On-Site Chair.
Hospitality Suite Coordinator
The On-Site Chair would prefer someone who is located in the greater ABQ-Santa Fe area but this not a requirement. This volunteer will use the telephone and e-mail to help the On-Site Chair finalize and confirm the universities and colleges sponsoring the CRLA Hospitality Suite one evening each of the conference. In addition, the CRLA Board would like this position (and the On-Site Chair) to procure donations from local eateries and vendors for treats and goodies to be given away in the Hospitality Suite each evening. These products should showcase New Mexico foods and goods. This part of the position may entail going to or calling local businesses and asking for donations.
Cultural Tours Coordinator
This volunteer position would be in charge of confirming the details and coordinating the seven (7) cultural tours that have already been selected for the conference. Each tour requires a "tour leader" to escort our membership on the tour, so this person would organize the individual tour leaders in addition to confirming details with tour and transportation companies.
We are looking for one or two Tour Leaders with knowledge of Santa Fe and experience using the Rail Runner Express for the Saturday Santa Fe Tour, which will use Rail Runner Express transportation. This tour option will begin at 1 PM in downtown ABQ and will return to ABQ around 10 PM that evening. Tour Leaders will accompany CRLA members via the Rail Runner Express to Santa Fe and offer self-guided options such as Georgia O'Keefe Museum, the Plaza, Meow Wolf, shopping, and eateries. Requires knowledge of Santa Fe, cell phone, and ease with using the Rail Runner Express.
We need two to four people with up-to-date knowledge and experience of Albuquerque and all it has to offer to serve a shift or two as "Albuquerque Ambassadors" at the Registration Booth. An "Albuquerque Ambassador" will help convention visitors navigate the city and make decisions about how to spend free time and how to get there! Native, former, and current Albuquerqueans wanted!
If you are interested in any of these positions, please email Shelley DeBlasis, 2018 On-Site Chair.
