The College Reading and Learning Association is instituting a new procedure to allow educational institutions and organizations to post job openings on the CRLA website. Rather than post job descriptions, CRLA will link directly to the educational institution’s job posting. The CRLA website will display this essential information:
- the job title,
- name of educational institution or organization,
- type of position (faculty, professional, administrative, executive, other),
- category of position (e.g., developmental, learning center, library),
- application deadline and
- a link to the educational institution's or organization’s website for detailed information.
Here are a few requirements for posting a job on the CRLA website.
-
A current website must be available for linking to the job posting.
-
A contact person must be identified and verified by the CRLA Website Manager (i.e., with a valid email address and telephone number) in case of problems.
-
All job postings will be reviewed by the CRLA Website Manager and verified with the organization or educational institution before posting on the CRLA website.
-
Title of position, category, application deadline and name of organization or educational institution will be proofed with the CRLA Website Manager and the organization or educational institution before posting to the CRLA website.
-
By posting a position on this site, the job contact warrants that the posting is in complete legal compliance. The job contact will assume all responsibility for the content of the posting. CRLA CANNOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR LOSS.
-
The job contact warrants that s/he is legally authorized to advertise the job and that the posting does not infringe on any copyrights, patents, trademarks, or contracts to which the job poster is a party. The job contact will indemnify CRLA for any claims made by third parties related to the posting. CRLA reserves the right to reject any submitted posting.
-
42 USC 2000e-3(b) provides that it shall be an unlawful employment practice for an employer or an employment agency to publish an ad for a job opening that lists a gender preference unless that preference or limitation is considered a bona fide occupational qualification for employment. If such a position were posted under this agreement, CRLA would presume that there is a bona fide occupational qualification for this restriction related to the nature of the posted position.
-
Job postings will be deleted after the application deadline. If there is no application deadline, postings will be deleted after 60 days.
If your organization or educational institution is interested in posting a job on the CRLA website, please complete the Job Posting Request form. Once you complete the form, the CRLA Website Manager will contact you for final proofing before placing it on the CRLA website.
